TOP SECRET: AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY

Entity Codename: KeraNom

Designation: Digital Monster

Species: Internet-based life-form

Location: Unknown, although current evidence suggests entity spends most of its time in the Deep Web/Dark Net.

Origin: You wouldn’t believe it, but there are… beings… which live inside the worldwide web. We don’t know how they got in there, but if you’ve ever been trolled on 4chan or Reddit, chances are you’ve encountered one of them. The government’s official designation for these creatures is “Digital Monsters” (yes, like in the Japanese cartoon). As of 2013, two types of squid-like entities have been identified: the Keramon, who are effectively the embodiment of the phrase “for the lulz”, and their darker, more terrifying counterpart, KeraNom. Both of these ‘species’ seem to “feed”, for lack of a better word, on raw data, and have developed the ability to interact with users on the Internet.

Most of the time, these digital creatures, particularly Keramon, normally interact with humans through chatrooms and on discussion boards, commonly trolling threads and starting flame wars via ghost accounts in order to sit back and watch the human users go ballistic and feed on the resulting internet data. It is estimated that about a tenth of Youtube commenters are actually Keramon interacting with humans just for a good laugh. Attempts by researchers to directly contact Keramon tend to result in the researchers’ electronics going haywire for no apparent reason before a digital image of individual creature appears on a nearby screen and taunts the user before vanishing. It’s now assumed that Keramon do this for fun, though no one knows why.

However, the entity we have designated as KeraNom is a completely different story.

While KeraNom is nearly identical in appearance to a Keramon, it is considerably more dangerous, able to control at least [REDACTED] electronic devices through what surviving researchers have described as a sort of “superhack”. This entity also has the ability to create large, three-clawed appendages that act as an extension of its body from what analysts guess is a blend of raw computer data/electric impulses and give them physical form in the real world. But what is perhaps most terrifying fact about KeraNom is the creature’s apparently reality-defying ability to enter the physical world and feast on human flesh.

ThAnkfully, as of 2013, all evidence indicates there is only one KeraNom currently in existence. However, as of this report it has devoured at least 782 victims worldwide, attacking them through their computers, smartph0nes, tVs, and any other electric device that has an iNternEt connection.

As of now, the government has no way of containing KeraNom or the Keramon. However, th3 last researcher that attemptEd to study KeraNom came up with a theory on how the more malevolent entity picks its tarGets.

BEfore his de4th, Dr. [R3DACTeD] pr0pos3d that the creAtUR3 exIStS 4 teH LULZ.

I AM HUNGRY.

FEED ME! FEED ME! FEED ME! FEED ME! FEED ME! FEED ME! FEED ME! FEED ME! FEED ME! FEED ME! FEED ME! FEED ME! FEED ME! FEED ME! FEED ME! FEED ME!

Remember that creepy Keramon deviation back in March after submitting a this comic earlier in the month, and how I commented that there were no Digimon Creepypastas?

So I was taking a break from writing my latest pasta, and decided to finally draw up the Creepypasta version of Keramon. So, meet KeraNom, the data/flesh chomping terror of the Internet.

Oh, and Ben (and the pokepastas) should run like hell.

I'll probably post a ref pic for him sometime next month or so, since I'm a) still writing an intro pasta for this creepy spam-squid, and b) still have to finish the pasta I'm currently working on before doing that, and c) need to figure out a way to add the rest of his color without screwing up the shading I worked on. [Thank god I remembered my wacom tablet...]

Anyway, if you like it, comment and fave it! It's always great to have feedback!

EDIT: Oh, he now has a few Creepypastas of his own.
